Waves crashing inside a sea cave

I love the unpredictability of the ocean, it’s restless motion and mood present such a powerful subject to shoot. Being by the waters edge at dawn inevitably reminds me of when I first picked up a camera some 5 years ago now. I was a different man back then, struggling internally to be honest. I truly wouldn’t be who I am today without photography, perhaps that’s why I love it so much, why I love being alone amidst the elements, wherever that may be. I’ve met some great people along the way, some of which I shared this particular morning with. It was enjoyable one with much laughter as we were battered by the waves. I didn’t say it at the time but I was trying to capture an image that told a story, one of a man who was set free. Darkness encloses but light finds a way.
