I’ve been fortunate to spend some quality time in the beautiful Canadian Rockies over the years, both during workshops and personal trips. On this particular afternoon I was with my friend Lizzy Gadd as we were heading back toward the Lake Louise village, nearing the end of a big week. We hadn’t pre-planned shooting the sunset but once these clouds began to ignite we were more than eager to watch the light show. I pulled over at the next opening in the trees which just happened to be one of the more famous vantage points in the Rockies, here at Morant’s Curve. Even the train rolled on by just like on all the post cards but I much preferred this 3-minute long exposure which captured the clouds as they drifted across the afternoon sky. After this I believe we grabbed the third coffee of the day as per the daily ritual.
