Beginners 1-Day Photography and Photoshop Workshop
Kiama NSW Australia
The art of photography can be incredibly fulfilling. When you’re able to creatively capture a moment in time and express yourself through an image, there’s nothing like it. Of course, this is something that takes time and practice, particularly when starting out. If you want to learn how to get the most out of your camera and understand the technical as well as the creative side of photography and post-processing, than this is the workshop for you.
Overview/What to Expect
A small group workshop that is most suited to beginner and intermediate photographers who want to better understand the fundamentals of photoshop and photography – how to conceive and create impactful and beautiful imagery manually, without relying on any of the cameras auto modes. From beginning to end, this course covers the entire workflow of what is involved in shooting and editing a photo that can be shared online or printed for your wall.
This workshop commences in a comfortable conference room where we will go over the fundamentals. I break down the basic elements that make up photography and manual mode shooting. I explain all the terminology in simple terms, including ISO, aperture and shutter speed as well as help you understand the buttons and functions of your camera.
After this we will head outdoors to the iconic Cathedral Rocks in Kiama where we will photograph the sunset, applying all the theory that was just learned. Connecting with your surroundings, how to effectively compose a shot, understand light, work with moving water and low light, using a tripod, reading the histogram, long exposure techniques – virtually everything is covered, as well as answering any questions you may have throughout the evening.
Straight after sunset we will head back to the conference room to develop our raw files using Photoshop. Once again, I start with the basics and show you a handful of simple steps to bring out the best in your photo and then save it for print or the online world. From here you will be equipped with a foundation of knowledge that will propel your future photographic endeavours.
