Eyes transfixed, the distant roar of New Zealands tallest waterfall, Sutherland Falls, was all that filled my ears. An ever present reminder of how small we humans are, particularly within such an environment. Surrounded by the glacially carved Fiordland wilderness as the sun descended behind Lake Quill, the welcomed call of nearby Kea would echo through the valley below as shadows became outstretched and gave way to the darkness of night.
