Fiordland New Zealand
Full-Day Photography Workshop
In the far South West of New Zealand, Fiordland abides as a vast complex of rugged mountains, ancient forest, rivers, fiords, towering waterfalls, glacially carved valleys and some of the finest wilderness on earth. This is my home, my passion and the very best of New Zealand, all in one place.
This photography workshop is all about learning the fundamentals of photography and post processing in Photoshop, plus having an enjoyable experience capturing some of the beauty fo Fiordland.
Commencing at the Alpine Centre in Te Anau, I’ll run through an easy to understand presentation on the core principles and fundamentals of photography, detailing things like aperture, ISO, shutter speed and the histogram. We will also talk about framing and composition and the whole creative process, equipping you with the tools to shoot in manual mode and unlock your full creative potential.
From here we will car pool to some local photography locations, putting to practice some of the theory we have gone over. You’ll understand how to effectively compose scenes, what to look for in nature to create compelling images, what settings to use in different scenarios and how to tie everything together to create images worthy to hang on the wall.
From here we will return to the Alpine Centre for an introduction to post-processing in Photoshop, where I’ll share my simple and effective techniques for editing raw files. You’ll learn how to adjust contrast, colour and most importantly how to balance out the dynamic range in a file to create powerful and realistic results.
To finish up the workshop we will capture the sunset together at Frasers beach in Manapouri.
During the course of the workshop I’ll assist everyone individually and answer all your questions, so you will learn what you need regardless of your experience.
