IcelandLights Of The North
A 7-day tour during a spectacular time of year, taking you across the most inspiring landscapes of Iceland as we pursue the northern lights each night
Date: October 8th – 14th 2021 (2 Places Left)
Location: Begins and ends in Reykjavik, Iceland
Group Size: Maximum 6 participants
Experience Level: Suitable for all levels
Accomodation: Twin share 4-star hotels and lodges
Towering waterfalls, rugged coastlines, glaciers, mountains and the illusive Northern Lights – Iceland boasts some of the worlds most incredible scenery. Aimed at photographers of all skill levels, this photography workshop tours some of the highlights as well as spectacular, lesser known locations. It’s time for you to see what all the fuss is about.
With a group size limited to just 6, this is a very personal tour with likeminded people, allowing for more room and time on location and the freedom to explore the diverse landscapes Iceland has to offer. It’s no secret that Iceland is a photography host spot (and for good reason) so I keep the order of the itinerary completely flexible, so I can get you to the right place at the best times. The smaller group size also allows us plenty of opportunity for spontaneity and ability to access many unique locations.
In all my workshops I share all my knowledge and experience, assisting each one of you in the field. I’ll also hold some post processing tutorials throughout the week, showing you to make the most of your digital files.
Just some of the many places we will visit …
Mountains, Seascapes, Waterfalls, Glaciers, The Thrill Of The Aurora And Much More …
“On all my workshops, my goal is not to simply help you take a nice photo, but to bring you face to face with intimate and unforgettable experiences in the natural world. I’ll also share with you the technical knowledge and creative understanding to carry with you on the rest of your photography journey.” WP
Vik and surrounds
The iconic southern coast of Iceland, where the roar of the sea greets miles of black sand beaches. There are phenomenal seascape opportunities here, capturing wild scenes of coastal cliffs, towers and waves.
Hofn and Vestruhorn
One of the most photogenic mountains in Iceland, located on the coast with wind swept sand dunes, reflections and icy foregrounds.
The Northern Lights
A large portion of this workshop is dedicated to capturing the northern lights and to help increase our chance of success, I try and keep the itinerary as flexible as possible, allowing us to pursue the best weather and light to experience once in a lifetime moments.
Mt Cook And The Southern Alps
Yes, we will explore the big peaks and tallest mountains in NZ, in a region surrounded by glacial lakes, milky rivers and ancient glaciers.

What People are Saying
“encouraging and patient ”
“He was quick to respond to any correspondence, encouraging, patient and adapted to suit any situation. It has changed my way of looking at our beautiful nature and the eagerness to take more photos cannot be ignored thanks to Will.”
Leanne Cullen – NZ
“raw and passionate”
“Will understands that you need to have flexibility when shooting and doesn’t have you lined up in a row like a tourist, which is similar to other workshops I have attended. If you want to learn true, raw and passionate photography, a Patino photography workshop is for you.”
Nick Kennedy – Sydney AU
“It was a very productive learning period in the art of landscape photography. I have no hesitation in highly recommending his expertise and personable nature.”
