Cloud Piercer

The king of the South Island, Aoraki (Mt Cook), living up to its namesake as the ‘cloud piercer’. I’ve been fortunate to behold many sights but this one was different, something deeply moving. Maybe because I’ve flown here so many times without keeping a single shot. On this afternoon, I couldn’t help but shed a tear as I soared around in the presence of this countries tallest mountain, just as the sun bid farewell to another day.
