Vessels
One of the grandest landscapes in New Zealand, with Aoraki/Mt Cook and the glacial Tasman river braids flowing to Lake Pukaki. I’ve been in the air here many times but on this particular day, the light, colours and calm waters created something very special to behold.

Alpine Garden
A special couple of days, camping beneath the mighty alps, awakening to this scene of unforgettable beauty as fog drifted across the glacial lake. The nearby river constantly roaring below this small alpine garden, which was so vibrant amongst the glacial moraine.

Sky Dweller
The tallest point in both Australia and New Zealand, rising above darkness into the warmth of fading light.

Uprising
A classic NZ scene on the West Coast, with Mount Tasman and Cook above morning mist set alight by the warm glow of the summers sun.

Ice King
The Caroline face of Mount Cook (over 12,000 ft), viewed from the eastern shores of the glacial Tasman Lake. I used my raft to reach the ice in the foreground, which stretched at least the length of a bus, with many others the size of multi-story buildings towering over me. This was a sensory overload, being alone floating across the still waters, surrounded by the giants of New Zealand as they came to life in the light.

Sea of stone
Mount Cook centred above the glaciated sea of stone, that is the Southern Alps.
