The Castle

Last light upon the imposing wall of ‘The Castle’ in the Budawangs Range. This is where and when my love for wilderness photography began, across three seperate trips to this region, in the South Coast of Australia, not far from where I grew up. On a prior trip, we summited The Castle, which is the most popular hike in the area, however, I wanted to photograph it, not simply stand on top. Reaching this vantage point here required some solid bush bashing, snake encounters and many bruises, but it was worth the effort to see the vision I had come to life, as the afternoon light cast out across the land and ancient walls of this spectacular Aussie range.
