Tips For Using Wide Angle Lenses
In Landscape Photography
The ultra-wide angle lens is a staple in landscape photography. Whether you have a 16-35mm, 14-24mm, 12-24mm or one of the many other wide angle options, these lenses are a specialty lens that are best used in a certain way.
In this video, I share some of my main tips for using a wide angle lens in your landscape photography. Some of the key considerations with using wide angle lenses are
- get low – getting low to the ground will help create depth
- get close – being closer to your foreground helps create a strong ‘diminishing perspective’
- angle downward to help the eye flow from the lower part of the frame, through to the back
