Lost World
When we take to the sky, there’s not always a direct objective in mind. Instead, we let nature speak to us and sometimes, we are fortunate enough to hear a tale as old as time.
Broughton Arm, New Zealand
Magnificence
A pre-historic scene as beautiful as it gets, epitomising all that I love about this wild place known as Fiordland.
Hall Arm, Fiordland, New Zealand
Fiordland Majesty
The highest of heights within the heart of Fiordland, Mount Tutoko rising from the mist of a clearing storm.

Hope From Doubt
Morning light igniting the mist and mountains which tower over the longest fiord in NZ, Doubtful Sound. I’ve experienced a lot of impactful moments over the years. This rainbow which lasted 45 minutes is right up there.
Doubtful Sound, New Zealand
Shadowland
A sea of stone and light, in the land of shadows.

Dispersion
The glitter of gold and sound of silence, as misty mountains prevail against the storms that shape them.
Fiordland, New Zealand
Within the silence
The silent calm that accompanies a clearing storm, amongst a field of sweet smelling lupin.

In This Moment
A fleeting moment of sublime beauty, shared with friends and family in the land I call home.

Breaksea
An angle of Fiordland I’ve attempted to shoot several times, but being one of the worlds wettest locations, the task was easier said than done. During winter, clear spell opened up, with light leaking over the southern ranges above the Broughton Arm, at Breaksea Sound.

Secrets Of The Forest
Water is a constant in Fiordland, shaping and transforming just about every aspect of the landscape. After the right amount of rain, hidden streams swell and create special scenes just like this. I found this intimate fall one afternoon, when walking the forest and being led by curiosity. The sinking sunlight filtered through the canopy and illuminated sections of the soft mossy greens that clothe all in sight.

Dusk
The remote, south west corner of Fiordland. An expanse of fiords and islands that are too wild, rugged and remote to be settled. So, nature reigns supreme, with storms often flooding and transforming the landscape, this golden afternoon being a rare exception.

Selah
Yes, it is a grand sight when you emerge from the shadows of the rainforest and behold an amphitheatre of mountains draped in snow and ice. The most unforgiving of places can be so inviting.

Time Of Noah
Three times higher than Niagara Falls, here is Stirling Falls in Milford Sound, captured in the midst of a torrential downpour. It’s taken me quite a few years to capture an image here that portrays all that I love about this place.

Disappearing Falls
A place where wild seas break at the feet of mountains and waterfalls are lifted into the stormiest of skies.

A Voice In The Silence
A temporary light that broke the veil of the storm. A face to face reminder to keep pressing forward.

Storm King
Milford Sound in Fiordland, a gateway to the sea and one of the wettest places on planet earth. Glaciers once carved these giant granite towers which now endure the violent storms that blast down the fiord. Mitre Peak is the iconic jewel of the landscape, revealed here in all its storm born glory.

Break Through
No other place stirs my heart like Fiordland, even the name itself evokes lofty thoughts. Whether in the midst of chaotic storms or amidst a window of calm, beauty abounds. Here, the veil of cloud is lifted as the sun sets over the horizon at Dusky Sound.
Rise Up
This is the closest beach to my home in New Zealand, just over an hours drive and much different than those I grew up beside in Australia. The ocean can be incredibly violent down here, with strong winds often battering the coast. On a calm day, these views are some of the finest in the world. Captured at sunset as the afternoon sun painted the land and sea gold.

From The Ruins
Where glaciers once ruled, by the smoking mountains of Fiordland, looking West over Doubtful Sound one afternoon as we waited for the sun to sink low enough to inflame the lingering cloud.

Hanging On
Mt Madeleine and remnants of a once mighty glacier which carved the peaks and valleys of Fiordland.
Valor
Whether above the craggy peaks or below in the lush valleys, Fiordland has a way of impacting the soul of all who are exposed to its timeless beauty. Captured at dawn, this is my favourite mountain on earth, Mount Tutoko.
Uniformity
As the rain subsides and makes its way through the valleys and out to sea, the forest is cleansed and the cycle continues.

Valley of the fiord
10,000 ft up, looking across the steep valleys to the high throne of Fiordland with Mount Tutoko and Madeline standing above the sea of petrified stone.

The Wall
Across the raging waters of the sea, beholding the humbling sight of countless waterfalls plummeting over a thousand feet into the deep waters below.
