Based in Te Anau, I specialise in Fiordland tours but also take people right across the South Island. From the rugged West Coast, golden hills of Central Otago and up to the glaciated peaks of the Mount Cook National Park.
I live and breathe this land and would love to share the very best of it with you.
Whether you’re looking at learning the basics of photography, refining your existing skills, or focussing only on post-processing – anything is possible!
From half-day, full-days or an entire week, simply contact me to arrange a bespoke tour.
These Are The Places I Live And Breathe
Forests, Mountains, Lakes, Waterfalls, Glaciers, Fiords and Much More
“On all my workshops, my goal is not to simply help you take a nice photo, but to bring you face to face with intimate and unforgettable experiences in the natural world. I’ll also share with you the technical knowledge and creative understanding to carry with you on the rest of your photography journey.” WP
Let me know what you’d like to see and learn and we can make it happen!
Milford Sound + Cruise
Experience a location I know very well, the iconic Milford Sound, where glacially carved mountains rise vertically from the depths of the sea. I take most people here on my day-tours where we can capture the sunset and many surrounding locations on the way.
Fiordland National Park
My home and the one part of the world I’m most passionate about. Let me share with you a landscape born of storms, with towering mountains, vibrant mossy forests, winding rivers and roaring waterfalls.
Aerial Photography
A good portion of my portfolio is made up of aerial images. You can consider adding a flight on to your workshop. I have a good relationship with the pilots I use, communicating to align unique compositions and angles for you to capture.
Mt Cook And The Southern Alps
On a multi-day tour, we can explore the big peaks and tallest mountains in NZ, in a region surrounded by glacial lakes, milky rivers and ancient glaciers.

Testimonials
What People are Saying
“encouraging and patient ”
“He was quick to respond to any correspondence, encouraging, patient and adapted to suit any situation. It has changed my way of looking at our beautiful nature and the eagerness to take more photos cannot be ignored thanks to Will.”
Leanne Cullen – NZ
“raw and passionate”
“Will understands that you need to have flexibility when shooting and doesn’t have you lined up in a row like a tourist, which is similar to other workshops I have attended. If you want to learn true, raw and passionate photography, a Patino photography workshop is for you.”
Nick Kennedy – Sydney AU
“very productive”
“It was a very productive learning period in the art of landscape photography. I have no hesitation in highly recommending his expertise and personable nature.”
Rob Weir – North Island NZ
“the most memorable experience”
“I’m a three time attendee (Canada, Iceland and Patagonia) with Will. He tailors the workshop content to the skill level of the attendees. He strives to bring you to the best places at the best times for the most memorable experiences.”
